Underpinnings & Other Lovely Things

{silk satin cat sleep mask by Naomi Lingerie}
I am seriously in love with the delicate underpinnings and sleep masks created by the ever-so-adorable Japanese designer Naomi (couldn't track down her last name). At any rate, they have a very roaring '20s feel to them and I would like nothing more than to stock my entire lingerie collection with them...unfortunately, the $35-$40 price range is too steep for my wallet. Of course, the sleep masks are only $18 and the silk satin cat sleep mask would surely give new meaning to taking a cat nap. Check out the Naomi Lingerie shop & the blog for more info. In the mean time, below are just a few of my favorite pieces from the collection. Swoon.

Heads Up, Seven Up

{Mustard beau skirt and tea top by Sarah Seven}
All I have to say is I want, want, want this mustard beau skirt and tea top - like right now!!! Not to mention, all the other totally covetable clothes (like this, this and this) by Portland, OR-based designer Sarah Seven. This lady makes some amazing pieces. Oh, and I should mention that 5% of all her Etsy shop sales goes to some great charities. Enjoy more pics of her work over on her blog.

Hella Stacked!

{slim staking rings, mixed metal by Kate Szabone}
I must have this set of nine slim staking rings!! Of course, I plan to order them all in yellow gold because I'm not really a silver kind of girl and, well, rose gold makes my skin crawl. Luckily, Etsy seller Kate Szabone will customize orders to your liking...provided you have a "convo" with her to work out the details. Now, I just need to figure out my ring size.

Tea Time

{tea lover mini screenprint card set by MrPS}
The fall-like weather we've had of late has me all inspired to curl up on the couch with a cup of hot tea and a chick flick. Additionally, the slight chill in the air has always motivated me to catch up on my correspondence. So, what better way to combine the two activities than to shoot off some snail mail to my friends on these adorable screen-printed tea lover mini cards by UK-based designer Megan Price (aka Etsy seller MrPS). The sets include four cards printed on heavy card stock. Price also makes some super cute shopper tote bags, tea towels and prints - and I love it all!

Sea of Love

{black spotted urchin cup by DiTerra}
I need to take a few moments to confess my love and obsession for small bowls. I mean, they make perfect catch-alls for a variety of things: paperclips, bobby pins, matchbooks, pocket change and basically anything else that's small and needs containing. Take a walk through my apartment and you're guaranteed to spot a few such containers in every room. That said, I'm not the least bit surprised to find myself coveting this black spotted urchin cup (with blue interior) by Minneapolis-based Etsy seller DiTerra. It's super cute...and with my upcoming trip to Maui only a few weeks away, I've got the ocean on my mind.

Tea Party

{me & the ladies enjoying tea at crown & crumpet}
Yesterday, me and five of my lovely friends got dolled up and headed to San Francisco for an afternoon at Crown & Crumpet, an adorable little tea room located in Ghirardelli Square. The weather was perfect, the company was impeccable, and the atmosphere and decor at Crown & Crumpet was perfection! Pre-tea, we poked around in the little gift shop, which was chock-full of imported British treats and covetable creations by Etsy sellers. Two highlights were this "Let them eat cake" poster by BluLima and these crochet dream catchers by Pretty Little Things. The shop also had British candies, various Crown & Crumpet swag and an assortment of other tea-related gifts and souvenirs.

In honor of the event, me & the ladies sported crowns that we had fashioned for one another - each crown was uniquely its own, reflecting both the creator and the recipient. Darcey made mine, which featured two blue sparrows above a sea of white swirls - too cute!

On to the food: everything on the menu looked amazing, but we opted for two orders of the "tea for three," which came with an assortment of sandwiches, house-made scones (served warm with clotted cream & lemon curd - yum!), toasted crumpets, various sweets and several large pots of tea. Everything was delicious - especially the Fig de Blanc tea, a delicate white tea with hints of fig.

All-in-all, it was the perfect day...and if you get the chance, I highly suggest you visit Crown & Crumpet.

In the Nea Future

{puffed heart wall wear by nea}

In honor of her 4-year anniversary, Montreal-based Etsy seller Nea (aka Janick Gravel) has marked everything in her shop 15% off today through August 21. If you have yet to see her stuff, I suggest you check out her shop. I'm partial to her Wall Wear collection, which often features embroidery thread, vintage buttons and beads, natural fabrics in rich colors and vintage frames - but she also makes some totally covetable jewelry.

Architecture + Crafts = Archicraft

{colorful crocheted necklaces/scarves with wood detailing by Archicraft}

One of my favorite exhibitors at the Renegade Craft Fair was Archicraft, the brainchild of former architecture student & current crafter Cindy Liu. The Emeryville-based, one-woman company creates a variety of items that are modern, clever and totally covetable. My favorite items in the shop included the customizable laser-cut greeting cards, colorful crocheted necklaces/scarves with wood detailing and moustache bandannas. Still, my absolute favorite item was an awesome wall hanger that featured a key-shaped silhouette and corresponding plastic key-shaped key chain that fit into set silhouette - man, that's a lot of "keys." The wall hanger also featured a small slot for mail. Am I doing a bad job describing how awesome it was? Luckily, I took a picture of it (see below). Unfortunately, I didn't buy one and the Archicraft Etsy shop is currently empty (boo!). On top of that, the link provided on the Archicraft business card is not working either. Double bummer. Guess I'll just have to keep checking their Facebook page and blog for updates.

Relax, Get To It

{"Relax (Frankie Says)" original painting by SuZanna Anna}

Who couldn't benefit from having an artistic reminder to just relax? This week has been crazy busy for me - if I could clone myself, I totally would. Alas, cloning is not an option so I just need to take a deep breath and remember to relax. How's your week going?

In the Bag

I am loving the funky and fabulous purse collection by the Turin, Italy-based designer Sandra Comas (aka Etsy seller ninu). The above microfiber bag is one of my favorite pieces, but she has a ton of other swoon-worthy bags available in her shop. Oh, and if you feel like learning a little more about Comas, check out her Esty Featured Seller Interview - it's chock-full of interesting tidbits about this creative creature and her covetable creations.

Pom Pilot

These hand-felted pom poms by Etsy seller Berry Island make me happy - they just do. Also, Fridays make me happy - especially the ones preceding three-day weekends! Happy Friday, everyone!

Power Couple

Something magical occurs when wood and baby blue join forces. Seriously. I'm pretty much a sucker for anything that incorporates the two. Throw in some puffy clouds and there's no helping me. Take for instance this double cloud pin by UK-based design duo Lost at Sea - it's lovely. Don't you think?

Bird is the Word

{image from joepapendick}

I am absolutely crazy about these hand-crafted hanging bird feeders by St. Louis-based Etsy seller Joe Papendick. I especially love the berry pink color - although the feeders come in a slew of other totally covetable colors as well. The welded steel bird feeders are 12 inches in diameter, feature perching rods and also have a removable screen for easy cleaning. I love, love, love these! Nicely done, Joe.

Love Connection

{the clasps on the necklaces feature brass hearts - so sweet!}

I have some very talented people following my blog. Take for instance, the brilliant Niko Godfrey. Niko's collection is called "ai," which means love in Japanese. The line features muted gold pendants and earrings embroidered with lovely color combos. Each necklace in the collection features a lobster-clasp closure with a small brass heart, a small reminder of the collection's name. Niko sells her wares over on Etsy under the moniker Chocolate Sushi Handmade and can also be found blogging here. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do.

Pillow Perfect

Lately I have found myself really drawn to home goods fashioned from linen and other natural fibers. That said, these linen-and-cotton pillows by UK-based Etsy seller Octavi are right up my alley. They look so cozy and cheery - I love them all!

Wood You Be Mine?

Great. Yet another awesomely talented husband-and-wife duo that I wish would adopt me. Alas, no one wants to adopt a 32-year-old woman...or do they? Tyler and Kelly, I'm talking to you!

At any rate, Tyler and Kelly "make wooden objects in their garage lair" and sell them under the moniker Teal and Gold. Above are just some of the covetable creations the duo has dreamed up. While the duo's Etsy shop doesn't currently feature any furniture items, you can (and should) check out the larger works featured on their blog. It would be remiss of you not to.

The Bright Stuff

I simply adore the bright and cheery nature of the above works by Netherlands-based Etsy seller Ninainvorm. Nina van de Goor, the creative force behind the Ninainvorm, applies screen-printed images to vintage ceramics, making each piece uniquely it's own. Nina also pens a very inspirational art-and-design blog - give it a read here.

Today IS Awesome!

Let's start the week off with a positive message, shall we? Sarah Neuburger (of The Small Object) has created this bright, cheery print with a positive message. If you're in a bad mood, stare at this Today is Awesome print for 5 minutes while listening to melodic pop sounds of Belle & Sebastian - I'm pretty sure that combo will snap you out of almost any funk.

Oh, and be sure to check out Neuburger's Etsy shop, which features some other adorable items. My shop favs include the Miniature Mighty Mustache Magnet, the MakeAList To Do Stamp and the I Like To Draw Pencil Pack (which is currently sold out - sad panda.)
