Free Finds :: Belated B-day Card

{click here to download a free PDF}
My coworker's birthday was last Friday...and the sneaky girl didn't let me know in time for me to make/do anything for her! Don't worry, Kimberly has been properly reprimanded and has promised to send out a company-wide email announcement next year. At any rate, I wanted to do something nice for her...since she is a total sweetheart and is always doing thoughtful things for others. So, I whipped her up the above belated birthday card and got her the itty bitty birthday cake from Freeport Bakery - both of which she seemed to love. Feel free to download a copy of the card for yourself - in case you have any sneaky friends out there. You're on your own as far as the cake goes!

My Life On a Greeting Card

{Tarje! card by Fomato - front}

Can I just come right out and say that this is the best card that I have ever seen?!! Holy crap, I just about died from laughter when I saw this, and I feel fairly certain that I'm not the only one that can totally relate to this Tarje! card by Fomato. Brilliant!

Hamer Time

{Image from Minted}

This might be the most adorable save-the-date card I've seen in a while. Designed by Leslie Hamer (of Unless Someone Like You), the cards were inspired by vintage maps and symbols. The cards are available at minted, and the design can be converted into an entire wedding suite should you desire. Hamer also has a line of scratch-off save the dates, which are pretty awesome, too. Oh, and if you're an Etsy seller, be sure to check out her free customizable Etsy banners!

What's Your Type?

{Image from Material}

I know at least a dozen type-obsessed individuals who would love to get their hands on this typographic deck of cards. The cards were designed by Jim Sutherland, of the London-based design studio Hat-trick design. Sutherland created the 54-card deck (including two jokers) using 54 different typefaces with no type alterations. To see the pack in its entirety, watch this 52-second video.

Q: What Do You Call A Smart Dinosaur?

A: A Thesaurus!

My friend Darcey is uber-talented. I mean, the girl has skills. She's also just about the sweetest, most genuine person that I have ever met - one of the reasons we've been friends for more than 15 years. That said, I wasn't at all surprised when she offered to design a downloadable card exclusively for Bows & Sparrows readers. I was, however, extremely flattered by her offer. Then, she gave me the files and man, were the cards adorable! So, here are two downloadble versions (blue & yellow) of her Thesaurus cards. I hope you love them as much as I do! Oh, and for a peak into Darcey's home, visit this old blog post.

She's Having a Baby

This letterpress card by Zeichen Press has me busting up! The best part is the card description, which includes this little gem: "She may not laugh, but you will." Brilliant.

In The Cards

Love these Interlockable Playing Cards. I have the Eames House of Cards and I always kind of wished they doubled as a deck of playing cards. Finally, I can build a house or play Go Fish!

No Limit To Your Love

It's nearly Valentine's Day - a holiday celebrated by happy couples, loathed by bitter singles, stressed over by those uncertain about their relationship status and capitalized on by restaurants and florists alike. As a singleton, I can't help but feel a little disheartened by the approaching day. That said, I've decided to mentally prepare for said day by celebrating all of my loves. In fact, I've got so much love to give that I cannot be held accountable if everyone I know gets a little piece of my heart...or maybe just one of these adorable print-your-own Valentine's Day cards by Etsy seller ThreeWheelsDesign. For a mere $3 a card, you get a downloadable PDF that you can print and reprint to your heart's content. Yep, we're talking love without limits! Woo hoo!
