Quote Me On That

Heavenly Creatures

{Image by Yudi Ela for Dear Creatures}

I pretty much love everything about the above photo - the wallpaper, the bed, the gilded chandelier, the art, the Resort Romper by Dear Creatures. I want it all. Photographer Yudi Ela, who shot the Spring 2010 lookbook for Dear Creatures, has an amazing eye. I highly recommend you check out her other works and her blog.

Heart and Soule

{"goldfish trick" from Elizabeth Soule Photography}

Back in 2008, I stumbled upon Portland-based photographer Elizabeth Soule's Etsy shop, where I bought a photo box of her "little deer" print - which I love! There's something about Soule's photographs (many of which were taken with a Polaroid SX-70) that speaks to me. Her work reminds me of that adorable French flick, Amelie - perhaps it's the saturated colors or whimsical nature of it. At any rate, if you haven't seen Soule's work, I highly suggest you check out her site.

A Pear Affair

{Image by sara + h}

Can I just take a moment to wax poetic about Bosc pears? I mean, they're crisp on the outside, tender and sweet on the inside, and chock full of fiber - basically, pure goodness in a warm-hued, nature-made package. Anyway, I simply cannot get enough of these things and will continue to enjoy them until the end of May, when they will no longer be in season.

At any rate, my obsession with the delectable fruit led me to the above photograph by sara + h, aka Sarah Rubens, who was kind enough to let my use the image on my blog. Find more photographs by Rubens on her online shop and on Flickr - 39/52 Bubble is another one of my favorites.

I Scream, You Scream

I love this photo by Sacramento-based artist Angela Wyant, who also happens to be a dear friend of mine. Maybe if she sees this post she'll give me a print of it - *wink, wink*! Check out more of Angie's work here.

For Love and Flory

I can look at photo albums for hours upon end - even when I have no clue who the people in the photos are. Yes, I'm a self-professed voyeur. At any rate, this holds especially true when the photos are inspired and original. So, when I discovered the Bay Area photography team Joel and Cara Flory, I was immediately sucked into their website's galleries...for hours - no joke. The photographs capture an energy that makes me wish I was standing on the sidelines watching the happiness unfold. Enough talk, their pictures tell a thousand words.

Taking Walter to the vet today - poor little guy has an ear infection. Bummer.

I'm So Vain...

Ok, so these pictures are for a project I'm working on...I swear I'm not really this vain. These shots of me and my pooch, Walter, were taken by my dear friend Angie Wyant, a fabulous photographer. She has an amazing eye. Thanks, Angie!

Good Things Come in Small Packages

For those of you not interested in the free 2010 Dada Calendar that I wrote about earlier, there are plenty of other calendar options out there for you to choose from. One of my favorites is photographer and Etsy seller Kitty Rogers' 2010 Teeny Tiny Calendar w/ Easel.

The mini calendars measure 2" x 3" (a tad smaller than a business card) and feature Rogers' photographs printed on heavy card stock with a matte laminate finish. Each set comes with a tiny wooden easel and a cotton bag stamped with the year 2010.

Rogers offers additional suggestions on how to use the calendars, including "circle a loved one's birthday and use them as gift tags," "tuck the current month inside your favorite book or journal" or "tote them in your pocket, wallet or purse for quick reference and happy thoughts."
Rogers also sells signed prints of her soft and dreamy photographs so be sure to stop by her Etsy shop and see what she has to offer.

The Truly Talented :: Nicole Carman

I love, love, love these colorful, whimsical photos by Nicole Carman. From what I can tell, Carman is located in Utah...so I doubt that I'll be enlisting her services anytime soon. Still, I'm going to bookmark her blog, because I eat her images up like candy.

Wanted to give credit to stephmodo, the blog where I first saw Carman's work.
