Air Supply

A couple of months back, I spotted a DIY tutorial on how to make an air-plant chandelier over at Modish. I liked the general concept, but decided to make mine a little different. Instead of using CB2's whirly hanging candleholders (which I still plan to use to make something similar to this bird feeder), I opted to use their teardrop diamond hanging vases. I purchased black gravel from my local aquarium, some air plants from Capital Nursery, and twine and a ceiling hook from a hardware store. I put it all together and this is what I got:

D.I.Y. Wreath

If you're anything like me, when a CB2 catalog finds its way to your mailbox you pour over each page coveting all the lovely modern designs while simultaneously searching for inspiration. With this most recent edition, I found myself (along with some motivation provided by my equally crafty friend, neighbor and fellow blogger RainyDayRose) getting inspired to make a holiday wreath fashioned from ball ornaments (see above image, and back cover of recent CB2 catalog).

Instead of spending the $3 to $5 per ornament for those available at CB2, we headed to Target and purchased boxes of 24 plastic ball ornaments for $5 each. We figured the plastic balls looked just as nice and would be far less prone to breaking. At any rate, the wreaths turned out wonderfully and were super easy to make. For instructions, visit the CB2 blog. Happy crafting!

Thou Shalt Covet :: CB2 Parlour Chair

Can someone please buy me the CB2 Parlour Chair? At $699, it's just a little too spendy for my modest income, but oh, how I covet it. A couple months ago I was in the East Bay and was able to take the chair for a test drive - it was comfortable, had great structure and form, and came in a vibrant tangerine fabric. I can so see this in my living room.
