Sleeping With Miranda July

Miranda July does it all. She writes, acts, makes films, creates art and now designs pillowcases. The pillowcases, sold in a pair at Third Drawer Down, read: "Here you will dream of endless kissing" and "Here you will dream of people you admire exposing your fraudulence." Pretty awesome if you ask me.

By the way, July's short story, "The Swim Team," which may be the funniest thing I've read in a long time, is being made into a film. Yay! Learn more here.

The Hair Hunt

I'm not a huge fan of the music of St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark), but I love her hair. As a curly-haired female I am always looking for new potential cuts and I love Clark's...so, perhaps I'll go short.

Oh, and writer Miranda July has a pretty cute cut in this photo, too!

Kate Spade Has Got Your Covers Covered

The Kate Spade website has a wonderful free downloadable book cover (and a couple of wallpaper options) that features images of vintage book/magazine covers. It's a super cute way to protect your books. The instructions for using the book cover are as basic as trimming away any extra paper to as charming as "find a park bench or shady tree. read at length."

The site also features a suggested summer reading list and, even though it's now autumn, there are several books on the list that I full-heartedly agree everyone should read - especially "No One Belongs Here More Than You," a collection of funny and often odd short stories by Miranda July.
