Let's Get Down to Brass Tacks

{image from Ladies & Gentlemen}
These alphabrass tables by Ladies & Gentlemen are pretty awesome. The bases of the side tables are fashioned from pieces appropriated from vintage brass table lamps - and the tops are available in black paperstone (as seen above), white oak or walnut. Each table is made to order and will run you $350...of course, you can always scour some thrift stores and attempt to construct your own version.

Jumpin' Jupiter

{Image from graypants}

Seattle-based design firm graypants has a striking collection of spherical lamps fashioned from repurposed cardboard boxes. Dubbed the Jupiter Series, the lamps are available named after the planet itself and the Galilean moons: Europa, Io, Callisto and Ganymede. Prices range from $129 to $479. Shop the collection here.

Great Balls Of Light!

I don't speak a lick of French, but when I stumbled on La Case de cousin Paul (via Bholu) I knew I had fallen in love long before I noticed the option to translate the text into English. The French boutique has a DIY-element to it, allowing customers to make their own "fancy lights" by selecting the number and color of the balls that make up the garland lights. There's even a super nifty website feature to help you envision your creation. Unfortunately, there don't appear to be any retailers in the United States and shipping is 22 Euros (ouch!) - what a bummer.
